An App could use oher souces to provide daily accuracy. But I don‘t expect there is an API somewere for all the roadworks or even accidents and yams.

Yes, the “Street” in OSM is historical and rather wrong now. We can’t rename it to OpenMap? There are a lot of trademarks, no-one knows the meaning: RTL BVB … So it’s no problem to use “OSM” without referencing to the full name. We should split our appearance. Two different Web portals with different functions:

• OpenStreetMap.org - for the Editing and Coding community
• OSM.org - for the Map/Data users

There also should be an OSM-App! (Android, iOS, Desktop) And the apps and osm.org should be alike, mostly. Ok, OSM only offers editors, no map use. But there are >2 FOOS apps, doing it: OrganicMaps, MapLibre, … Could we “merge” projects to an OSM-app? Or setup a new one, supported by the existing teams? Sure, redundant apps are needed. But >2 parents could merge the best genes to a better offspring.

Do you intend to run SAM inside an OSM editor at my computer? So I could check the findings before upload them?

@redd Es gibt schon einige wenige FOSS OSM 3D-Renderer. Vielleicht könnten wir eine “Arbeitsgruppe” der Projekt-Betreiber bilden. Mit dem Ziel, einen gemeinsamen Renderer zu erstellen und auch auf der Home-Page von OSM zum Einsatz zu bringen. Also nicht auf die jetzige Homepage, die, die dann Client-Side Vector-Rendering kann.

Du meinst in OSM? Das kannst du ändern. Du kannst 2 Häuser daraus machen.
Oder: Für jeden Eingang eine Node plazieren und die Adresse an die Node schreiben.

Auch “Doppelhaus“ ist im Wiki so nicht zu finden. Es fehlen deutsche Übersetzungen von
“Tag:building=semidetached_house” und “Tag:building%3Dsemi” wo auch “duplex” gefunden würde. Ergo: Mal auf English suchen kann helfen. Natürlich kannst du diese auch gleich anlegen/ins deutsche übersetzen ;-)

Es ist gut, wenn solche Lücken von “Neulingen” bemerkt und erfragt werden. Neben dem Block gibt es ja auch ein Forum und diverse andere Hilfen:

Baustelle: Ja OSM ist nicht so, wie man es erwartet. Mehr als Flexibel, aber auch irgendwie haltlos, wenn man neu ist. Gut ist immer, andere Stellen als Beispiel zu finden.
Für alles extra Funktionen in die Editoren zu packen, würde genau so unübersichtlich werden.
Und die Suche im Wiki oder Forum bleibt einem bei minimal ungewönlichen Sachen auch nicht erspart.

Ich muß dir aber auch recht geben: Im Wiki findet man “Baustelle” schwer.
* In “DE:Tag:landuse=construction” steht “Baustellen”
* Und in “Item:Q4870” steht “Baustelle”
Beide Seiten stehen beim Suchen irgendwo hinten in der Trefferliste. Sollten Allgemeine Seiten wie Tag-Info nicht vor Lokalbezogenen gelistet sein? Wer macht hier die Wiki-Suche?

Noch ein Tipp: Wenn du die OSM-ID, die der Editor anzeigt dazu schreibst, erleichtert das den Durchblick.
